After receiving a few belated birthday wishes this month from friends I realize that it truly is ‘Better Late than never” to be the recipient or the sender of well wishes to those who are dear to us. It is never too late to tell someone how you feel about them or tell them you are thinking of them!
I have learned that PowerPoint transitions only show up visually (and numbered) if you are in Custom Animation mode.

I’ve learned why people set aside a special place for yoga. Doing it in my family room means my mind always wonders over to my book shelf and I mentally go over what books are there that I still have not read. Or, I go over the books I should donate to the library. Or, I look at the dust that needs wiping, or the pillow that needs fluffing…you get the picture.
Today I learned to NEVER buy plumbing supplies at a plumbing supply store. I paid more that twice the price than the same item at Wal-Mart and Home Depot AND it had a piece missing AND when I went back to get that piece they were closed on weekends!
Oh and I also learned not to count on the plumber showing up and how to install a float valve in a toilet.
From Gale: I learned that you never discuss salary expectations with a room full of teachers and subs. They get really mad at you.
Skype has THE coolest function, which is a free no-overhead basic screen sharing function without any of the fuss of WebEx. It’s “Share your screen” under the “Call” menu.
You conversation partner can see your whole screen. Not lots of options, but easy as pie.
Why didn’t Kat and I know this at tax time??? Would have been much better than the convoluted scheme we ran to see almost the same screens.
I went looking to learn about Venn, after a discussion of Venn diagrams, and found Euler and HIS diagrams, which do not require overlaps.
My dad warned that an apple a day would prevent you getting adequate medical help … and here is a related quote from Stephen Colbert:
“An apple a day keeps anyone away, if you throw it hard enough”
I have learned that my confidence often exceeds my actual knowledge. Sometimes this doesn’t matter. But when driving, it’s mighty handy to take a glance at that map or fire up that GPS just for a moment, and find out generally where I’m going, before I head there, even if I’m pretty “sure” I know where I’m going.
