I have learned, over and over, that having a stack of great books to read makes me feel like a millionaire! And this time I have some that were given to me by a real editor! In my very own family! I am RICH, I tell you!

Happy Birthday to Me
I have learned, over and over and over again, that I am lucky beyond words to have the incredible family and friends I have in my life. I am really and truly rich!
Pro-Whining
From Sal
Sometimes, whining works! I canceled my Comcast service and switched to a new cable provider for my new apartment, since I had such trouble with their billing department for the last 12 months. The first time I called to cancel, they wanted to charge me $75 to end one week early, make me sit around with my cable box, and keep the new people from getting cable for a week. But I tried back a few days later, and explained my problems right up front to the new person, who is not only easily ending our service as requested, but we get to deliver the box whenever we’re done with it and we are getting a refund, instead of a fee. Whining win!
“Nothing Endures But Change”
says Heraclitus
Heraclitus is the first Western philosopher to go beyond physical theory in search of metaphysical foundations and moral applications.
A Picture is Worth…
nothing to some people. First of all, not everyone is into pictures, diagrams, two-dimensional depictions. I have learned that you can spot these people because they don’t try to illustrate things with these tools. Then there’s the lesson that some people don’t take to MY pictures. I’m into the second round of trying to describe abstract multi-faceted options with basic pictures, and I may be on my second round of falling on may face with it.
Words, anyone?
When Clicking Is Not Enough
I have learned, again and again, that buying and then owning books on valuable topics doesn’t actually do anything for me unless I actually read them, too.
Better Late…
From Michellis;
After receiving a few belated birthday wishes this month from friends I realize that it truly is ‘Better Late than never” to be the recipient or the sender of well wishes to those who are dear to us. It is never too late to tell someone how you feel about them or tell them you are thinking of them!
If You’re Happy and You Know It
From Gale:
I’ve learned that as a mother I feel guilty being happy sometimes. Today I’m happy that my kids are out working instead of being snug in their beds till late in the day.
Keep Up Already!
Tonight I am catching up on 29 entries to get this blog back to current. What happened here??? I have no excuses. It would be much easier to just keep up! I know I have learned this at least two other times in this half year. Will this be the lesson that sticks? We’ll see!
Savor This
From Gale;
I have learned that I really enjoy seeing husband so happy to be part of his little girls’ life. I worry when little girl gets to that age when she will reject him. She’s already rejecting me – won’t hold hands with me in front of her peers, and won’t kiss me goodnight (just a hug now)
