I have learned to never ever ever burn your bridges. There is nothing to be gained by it, it never feels as good as it seems like it might, and it’s a REALLY small world.
So just be nice.

I love this one! When we were small, Mom would say “Be good and play nice.” This was said as each of us headed out the door to school. In Jr. High, it was annoying but she said it anyway. Flashing forward … Today my Mom lives nearby in assisted care with my Dad 10 minutes from my home. They both have memory issues but are otherwise happy and healthy. Mom has Alzheimer’s and has difficulty articulating. Every time one of us is leaving Mom smiles and say’s “you are my favorite, and… Be good and play nice!” Then she laughs!
