The mind is like a monkey swinging from branch to branch through the forest. In order not to lose sight of the monkey, we must watch the monkey constantly and even be one with it. – Thich Nhat Hanh

Glass Overflowing
I have learned that I am amazingly resilient and that my optimism is baked right in to the core of me.
Halfway!!!
I have learned many things in half a year of blogging my lessons learned. Here are some of them:
- Lessons are everywhere!
- People are happy to share their lessons
- It is fun to get feedback, comments, email on all this
- It’s really hard to keep up and post one a day
- But I did it!!! Yay!
Thanks everyone! Keep them coming!
Love

The Big One
This may be one the biggest things I’ve learned this half-year. It feels deeply profound to me.
“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, this time more wisely.”

Mine
I have learned, again and again and again, that what really feeds my soul, deep down where it matters, is being with my own wonderful family and my glorious and truly fun friends.
Keep Going
“Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.”
Winston Churchill via www.meditation.org.au
“Perspective Adjustment”
Barbara taught me this term. It comes in handy when you are feeling sorry for yourself and something wakes you up.
I remembered it when I saw something I have never seen before: a baby section of a cemetery. Wow.
[and thus ends this 3-day theme]
Take It or Make It
I have learned that I always have time for a funeral.
Pinkie Promise or Not
I have learned that not telling a secret is much much better than asking someone not to repeat one. You would think that I would have learned this around 5th grade, but it seems that some lessons take a while to sink in, at least for me.
Less is SO Much More
I have learned, or I have sometimes learned, or I would like to learn to ask for a take-out container at the start of a meal bigger than my actual head. If I pack up tomorrow’s lunch up front, I’ll eat the right amount tonight and have a great lunch tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll just keep eating until it’s all gone and I’m all sorry.
