I have learned that I always have time for a funeral.

Pinkie Promise or Not
I have learned that not telling a secret is much much better than asking someone not to repeat one. You would think that I would have learned this around 5th grade, but it seems that some lessons take a while to sink in, at least for me.
Fill Up or Shut Up (or both)
I have learned, again and again, that when my husband says that the car needs gas, I really should listen and gas up sooner rather than later. Even if I do get 41 mpg, still need the g to go the m. I would be happy to never see that little orange gas pump on the display ever again!
Less is SO Much More
I have learned, or I have sometimes learned, or I would like to learn to ask for a take-out container at the start of a meal bigger than my actual head. If I pack up tomorrow’s lunch up front, I’ll eat the right amount tonight and have a great lunch tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll just keep eating until it’s all gone and I’m all sorry.
Centrist Position
I have learned that you can get in, and STAY in, the center lane on Storrow Drive, from Kenmore all the way onto the I93 North ramp. The signs say move here and there, but you don’t actually have to move at all. The far left lane works two. Pick one, and stay with it.
Also, the center lane works all the way from I93 South to Kenmore. Just stay in it.
You Are!
I keep learning from all of you!! You are all brilliant and wise. So keep commenting and email me your Lessons Learned and you can have a post with just your lesson.
Thank you for your support – we are almost through half a year!

I don’t care who said it. I still think it’s brilliant.
We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance. – Harrison Ford
“I used to cry and now I just take notes”
I have learned and practiced a very valuable new skill recently. I can listen to a long list of professional and personal (sometimes the line is blurry) criticism. And I can just listen.
And they don’t take American Express
Jess learned, and told me, that there are some parts of Boston in which your debit card will do you no good to buy a local lunch and actual cash is required and ATM’s are few and far between. So carry cash!

I have learned that even is someone is a Trusted Mentor, it doesn’t mean that every idea and suggestion is a good one and/or one I should follow.
